30YA is proud to have created the first-ever young leadership training program FOR Iranians-American Jews BY an Iranian-American civic action organization.
Our six month program will train the next generation of Jewish Iranian-American leaders in Los Angeles, ages 21-35. Fellows who are chosen will progress through a comprehensive and intensive leadership training program that will introduce them to the needs of not only their own community, but the greater community they live in, and equip them with the tools they need to make a difference. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with various leaders and activists from the greater Los Angeles community. Graduates of our program go on to not only be informed and effective leaders but also role models for their peers. This venture expands on the mission of 30 YEARS AFTER by educating future leaders for the Iranian-Jewish community and giving them the tools and resources they need to be agents of change.
The Maher Fellowship is currently in its 3rd cohort. Applications for our 4th cohort will open in Fall 2016.
POWER BRUNCH SERIES
Hosted quarterly, our Power Brunches bring young Iranian-American Jews eager to learn about new or pressing topics, together with thought leaders. To date, we have hosted American political leaders, Jewish leaders and Israeli dignitaries.
Held in the intimate setting of a private residence on Sunday morning, our Power Brunch Series gives our community's next generation of thinkers-and-doers access to the influencers and leaders who continue to shape the world around us. We have hosted dozens of Power Brunches, and are proud to share that the Iranian-American Jewish community has shown a great interest in the thought-provoking content we have made available. Power Brunches continue to be some of our most popular events.
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT SERIES
Fulfilling our mission to promote participation and leadership, this series focuses on creating opportunities for making an impact- for some Iranian American Jews, this series is the entry point to community involvement.
From cooking Persian Food for homeless veterans, to partnering with other Jewish organizations to highlight pro-Israel or pro-Jewish advocacy, to giving visionary Iranian-Americans a platform to mentor and address others, this series creates concrete ways for our community to play a hands-on, responsible role in society.
